Southeastern Freight Lines, Inc. provides a number
of specialized services to meet your shipping needs. Assembly
and Distribution Services
Southeastern provides assembly and distribution services to meet our customer's
specific requirements. For assembly customers, Southeastern will pick
up shipments from a variety of vendors and consolidate them into a single
shipment for delivery. This system is both efficient and cost effective.
For distribution customers, truckload quantities are received at the most
centralized service center based on your customers' locations. Shipments
are then loaded for next day delivery to your customer. In 2004, Southeastern
Freight Lines handled more than 254,110 distribution shipments with our
normal high speed precision. Please call Nelson Forrest at 1-800-222-7936
for more information, or click on Distribution
to see our ad in the April 2000 issue of Inbound Logistics.
Carpet Specialist
Southeastern Freight Lines has an extremely large
presence in the transportation of carpet and carpet-related
products. Our Dalton, Georgia, service center
is located in the heart of the country's major
floor covering manufacturing region. Southeastern
has the experience, expertise, and equipment (i.e.,
tractors, trailers, fork lift trucks, and rug
poles) to expertly transport your carpet.
Pallet Decks
Southeastern maintains an extensive inventory
of close to 1,000 pallet decks. In essence, these
devices create two floors in every trailer and
are utilized to eliminate the damage caused by
stacking incompatible freight. Pallet decks provide
operational efficiencies for Southeastern and
substantially reduce damage to cargo.
Responsible
Care
As an American Chemistry Council Responsible Care
Partner®, Southeastern has demonstrated a
commitment to the safe handling and transport
of chemicals and allied products. We routinely
handle hazardous material (with the exception
of class A explosive and hazardous waste) in a
safe and efficient manner. Our personnel are trained
in the proper handling of hazardous material shipments
and are prepared in the unlikely event that an
accident or spill should occur.
Truckload Shipments
While Southeastern is an LTL specialist, we do
seek truckload shipments in back-haul lanes in
order to avoid empty miles and to reposition equipment.
Please contact your local service center for a
quote on your next truckload shipment.
